It's this idea of thinking it is reasonable to build a HD diesel SRW truck designed for towing 18000 lbs and then remove some of its leaf springs to reduce its payload to less than that of a 1/2 ton to satisfy a particular segment of buyers that haven't a clue.
That is what Dodge/Ram did from 1994 to 2002 there wasn’t a SRW 3500, only DRW 3500’s.
You could get a 2500 with camper package, and you got 3500 springs, add optional 265/75-16 E tires and you could easily carry 11,000#.
