My main concern always is stopping the trailer. I have experienced issues with electric brakes on several trailers recently and have lost a lot of confidence in them. To me the safest thing is always air brakes since they are "energize to release". I wonder if electric over hydraulic would be more reliable than pure electric.
I couldn't agree more !!! Friends of ours and I say the exact same thing. Sure the truck can tow it, but you have to stop it. I get the ibby-geebies when I think about that much weight on a p/u/ Semi, no problem, but a pick-up??? Yikes.
