X2. I've read numerous articles by manufactures explaining how new improved brakes help stop the entire load, including the trailer.
When a heard of elk runs out in front of you or any other panic stop, you want the truck to help stop the entire combination as much as possible.
And our trucks aren't semi's. Our trucks represent a much larger percentage of the overall load than they do.
We all know it's a myth because no combination stops as fast as the truck, even the truck at full GVWR. Sure, they help each other, but the trailer doesn't stop all of its weight or even close to it.
