38 foot travel trailer?

I am looking at the Jayco 36 Bh. The over all length is about 38 feet. Is there anyone that tows a 38 plus foot travel trailer? If so how does it tow? I currently have a conversion that tows our 30 foot travel trailer with no problems. I am looking to upgrade our tow vehicle to a one ton diesel. Would duly or single axle be better? Thank you

  • Duallys always haul/tow heavy better. Thats why they make them. Just not the ideal daily driver for some folks.
  • Well, if you are gonna upgrade to a 1 ton diesel, srw or dually will fit the bill. Something to consider though, if you get the 1 ton dually and want to upgrade down the road to a 5er, you'll already have enough truck to do the job. Just a thought!
  • I tow a 38' including a 2' toolbox on the back (overall length).
I gross out at about 19,000lbs.
    Tows just fine.
