I tow a 7,500 lb.(loaded) 32'+ TT with my 2010 Titan with the same engine. I've never had an issue towing up any incline. Using tow/haul mode, it will downshift and keep pulling without hesitation, BUT I have never pulled out west in the higher elevations that you have. Have you checked your vehicle's payload rating? Even if you are towing well under your capacity, the passenger, luggage & tongue weight must also be within specs. Just my 2 cents!
