'70 Maverick, 250 I6, Offenhouser intake, Carter 4bb, Cyclone 3+3headers, mid 15s. I had a lot of fun with it at Desoto drag strip. Never been willing to drop tens of thousands of dollars to go a few seconds faster.
'73 Maverick, factory 302, 3speed auto, factory 3.00 axle, factory 2bb carb and factory exhaust, 16 sec flat..
added Holley 600 CFM 4bb with HiPo 289 intake, Mild cam upgrade, replaced low compression depressed pistons with flat pistons for 9.5 to 1 compression, Mallory Dual point dist and high output MSD coil, 15 seconds flat.. Didn't cost an arm and leg and was a blast to drive.. :B
Still have it, sadly had to take off the road in 2000 due to too much PA road salt damage.. In the works with a '76 Maverick from the southern states to transfer all the goodies from the '73 to the '76..
Was cheap fun back then..
