I actually increased the weight of the travel trailer by about 3,000 lbs when I recently went from a 19' to a 26' and because of the improved aerodynamics from a fiberglass rounded front cap, my gas mileage improved about 10%.
When I towed the old TT to the dealer to trade it in, I got 9.1 MPG. On the trip back with the new TT over the same route, I got 10 MPG.
