4WD vs 2WD
I'll be shopping for a new (or new-ish) truck shortly for pulling a medium size trailer or 5th wheel. It seems like the vast majority of 3/4 and 1 ton trucks around here are 4WD, with jut a few 2WD...

For towing a TT down the road, no, you don't need 4x4 as has been stated already..
It just depends on your use of the vehicle and where and if you think you'll ever need it..
When I was a kid back in the 70's Dad had a 1971 F250 2wd truck and we camped all over the place. Lived in Southern California, so didn't really need or miss 4x4..
But, we moved to Oregon in the late 70's and found that a 4x4 would come in handy, but still used the old 71 and never got stuck anyplace, but did find some interesting situations that we never did in CA...
Anyway, get what you feel will work for you and don't care what others say.. For me, I'll never be without a 4x4 truck, as it serves me well for MY situations..
