4WD vs 2WD
I'll be shopping for a new (or new-ish) truck shortly for pulling a medium size trailer or 5th wheel. It seems like the vast majority of 3/4 and 1 ton trucks around here are 4WD, with jut a few 2WD...

I agree with a lot of the comments on here where different scenarios make 4WD a great thing to have. My first truck was a Toyota 4x4 pickup and then I bought a new F-150 2wd to replace it. I never kicked myself so many times for not buying another 4x4. I ran into so many scenarios where a simple pull of a lever would have gotten me out of iffy situations both with and without our travel trailer at the time. I had to chain the truck up once in a snow storm which really turned me off of it.
And the other thing to consider is resale value. The F-150 I am referring to was a 1994 model but one is hard pressed to find a 2wd truck on lots anymore because hardly ANYONE wants them. That alone would push me to a 4x4.
