4WD vs 2WD
I'll be shopping for a new (or new-ish) truck shortly for pulling a medium size trailer or 5th wheel. It seems like the vast majority of 3/4 and 1 ton trucks around here are 4WD, with jut a few 2WD...

On at least 2 occasions, I have needed 4x4 to get the trailer where it needed to be. Without 4x4, I would have been stuck, which happened to some folks who did not have 4x4.
^^^^ This for me as well. Drove 2WD for years up here in AK. Got stuck often enough "just driving" that I appreciated the benefits of 4WD.
When I RV'd for 10 years on the Gulf Coast, I couldn't bring myself to buy a 2WD. Only needed the 4WD twice; once wet grass, once going
"off-road" to get around a broken down TT that was blocking the exit of the campground.
Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
