4X2 or 4X4 for towing and general use...what say you?

We have never needed a 4x4 for our towing style. Drove from Az and back last 2 Decembers. Bad snow conditions and never spun a tire either time. I was surprised. Monday we probably will trade our 08 GMC Acadia 2wd with 33K miles on a 2018 all wheel drive and the trade in valve will be much less. chevman
