Yeah, I mean yes. Not as much now as I keep vehicles a long time. Back before the invention of the interwebs and Craigslist, I used to buy a "deal" and flip it every 6-12months for even money or a profit. Kept us in very nice trucks when we couldn't or didn't want to afford a new truck. Those days are gone. Partly because of the good economy now, but even in slower years, it's just not as lucrative as it used to be.
Either way, aside from like 1/2 ton work trucks which are cheap anyway, resale is hugely different between 2 and 4wd trucks most anywhere north of the mason Dixon line.
2 wheelers just don't sell for a lot. Looking at used HD trucks, anytime one appears to be "too good to be true" if it's not a scam, it's a gasser, 2 wheeler or both.
My truck for example. Still would fetch $25k plus. Make it a gasser and it's around 15. Make it a 2wd gasser and it's about 10.
