We were based outside of Chicago until a couple years ago. Having a pick-up without 4x4 is just plain crazy there. Handling is terrible in snow and ice. Also. 4x4 is nice when you are in a sloppy campsite etc. it's better to have the option than not. Good luck with your decision!
