We are in snow country, so don't really have a choice one way or the other. If we weren't, it would be a wobbler as 2wd does have some real upsides.
. better gas mileage from the lighter weight and less rotating mass
. lower height. easier to get in and out of
. better handling from lower height and lower weight
. some are rated to carry more than their 4x4 counterparts
I always thought of the 2wd dually as the "serious" tow vehicle. For the guy who tows big over the road and doesn't do much else.
