I have a friend who has a 6.2L AT4. Awesome engine. Pulls his camper like a champ although I cannot say the same for the truck. It squats more than I am comfortable with, but there are ways to fix that.
Since the OP's question appears to be related to the little engine struggling and there is no reference to improved MPG...how is this relevant?
The diesel discussion usually has someone claiming they can pay off the diesel based on better MPG and then recouping your money becomes a key part of the discussion. Not so here.
To the OP: Yes, the 6.2 will give a noticeable boost in power and as mentioned the newer transmissions with more gears are a big help keeping the engine in it's happy place (rpm wise).
