It was a night and day difference for me going from my 2004 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi to a 2013 Ram 2500 5.7L Hemi. I loved driving the 1500 and still miss it, but the towing experience is way better with the 2500. I immediately noticed more power while towing and overall more solid platform. I think I have about 40 more HP with the newer 5.7L Hemi and 3.73 gear. Now comparing the two while not towing is quite the opposite. I could race around in the 1500 and it definitely was quicker, but obviously it was a lot smaller truck.
