5.9 Cummins Diesel Towing capacity
My owners manual tells me the max pin weight is 1200 and the 5vr (2007 Arctic Fox 27 ft) has pin weight of 1500lbs. On top of that the trailer is max of 12000 and the truck is rated at 9600lbs approxi...

I do shift down . I start with taking off od
Then if i need more i shift to 2nd
I know a manual 6 speed will allow 4000lbs more capacity.
Maybe reading the chart wrong?
I hadn't any issues till i encountered 13 % grade
Passes were not a problem
Just back country 2 lane roads and over 8% grade
Then it was just the trAnny going over 230 deg
Engine was fine
I had the tranny rebuilt with heavier clutches and a extra cooling box fan and higher cap pan with fins
