53k list price on a Ram what should I pay?

My question is if buying cash how much off of list should I expect. List is 53k on a 2016 3500 SRW Long Box crew cab, big horn package. They say they have 3000 off incentive. I believe they will go a lot lower than that but there doesn't seem to be a lot of these around. I am guessing their cash price could come down to about $46500. Curious if any of you have had any dealings on this or general opinions on what I should look for in price.

Also looking for opinions on the hemi 6.4 engine and the truck in general.
I did drive one of these trucks the other day and I can say I did like it and it seemed to have tons of power for a gasser.

I may do nothing as I do love the truck in my signature but all this fuel pump talk gives me the jitters. I will be out of warranty in about 8 months all though I only have 35k on the rig.

Thanks in advance for any opinions.
  • 9% off the base price
15% off the option list price
    0% off the delivery fee

Get your rebates, pay your tax and license and this total is the most you should pay. You should be able to deal for less or walk away.
  • Around here the dealers advertise $10,000 off BEFORE you even start negotiating.
  • If you got the jitters get an GM extended warranty as you now know you got a good truck. A new one may have issues and recalls will force you to know your service writer by first name. :W

Having said that I'm going to keep my '12 well past warranty as I plan on handing my truck over to my son when he gets his DL. I've seen plenty of these trucks in the 400k-500k miles now with original pumps and so I sleep good at night.

Also for price if you can't get $10k-12k discount from the MSRP then the simple answer is to walk. Trade in value is a little more subjective.

    Good luck...
  • Check one of the auto sites (Edmunds, NADA, KBB, etc) to see what invoice price is and what current rebates and incentives are available. You should be able to get it for about invoice minus rebates and possibly incentives.
  • Maybe you could buy an extended warranty directly from GM?

Deals change month to month and location to location. Can't really compare to what others paid. Best to get quotes from as many local dealers as possible to do your comparison.
  • Use the internet to find what you should pay. Go to truecar.com, kbb.com, nada.com, autotrader.com. A little research and effort on your part can yield significant savings.
  • A dealer here has a similar vehicle for 43,400. I could buy a diesel for 53k.
  • I paid $39k at for a truck with a $51k sticker last June at Dennis Dillon. Find a comparable truck on their website and then try to get the "Sale Price" matched at your local dealer. If you can't find a nearby dealer willing to match it, hop on a plane.
