Even with a "lite weight" 5th you must have been pushing your payload limits considering a 5th will have at least 20% pin weight!
In your case 22-25ft range will require WD even with the "lite" versions.
As far as ease of connecting, that hasn't "improved" any but electric tongue jacks will make it a bit less of a workout.
Or you can do what I do, buy a bigger truck that is able to handle the trailer of your size requirements without WD. Saves me hassle, 150 lbs of extra dead weigh in iron and $$$ (WD doesn't come cheap and the extra cost of moving up to a bigger truck is often not much more than what WD costs). My 3/4 ton pulls my 26ft TT without the "need" for WD although it is one the bubble so to speak.
