My 05 Silverado 3500 gets 9-10 mpg pulling my 102" wide Arctic Fox at 60 mph. I have a gasser because my truck only comes out in the summer to pull the TT, and sit in the garage all winter. For a daily driver the GM 6.0 with 3.73's and a 6 speed should make you a good all around truck.
