We live (6K' elevation) and camp primarily in the four corner states and traverse many mountain highways getting to our favorite camp sites. We have a 2500HD with the 6.0 and 4.10 and tow a 32' toyhauler TT that can weigh anywhere from 8K to just over 10K depending on the type of camping we have planned and it handles the load quite well as long as it has plenty of gas at it's disposal. Of course it revs up on the steeper inclines, but that is the way it was designed and where it's power band resides. Our TV is dedicated to towing our rig and just sits in the garage until called to duty making a change to a diesel TV unnecessary as we are not concerned with increasing mpg or power.
