I should probably clarify my claim that the 4:10 axle is a "must have".
The manufacturer tow rating for a 2014 2500HD crew 6.0, with 3:73 axle is 9,700 lbs (TT or Fifth wheel) and then 13,000 lbs (TT) with 4:10 axle ( or 14,000 for fifth wheel).
That is a big tow rating difference and why I recommend 4:10 as must have for trailer over 9,000 lbs.
