Yes -- I agree with you all pretty much - guess I'm just a bit disappointed this mpg is as low as it is ... I know, I know, buy a 2500HD for hauling and complain about mpg -- well, not really complaining, just wondering about that RE difference and the "great new technology" that helps mpg not at all ...
Truck is great, and rides well, hauls well, corners well - no complaints at all really. Just a little unexpected at this mpg ... but then again, it has a 35 gallon tank, and in my 2003 - the 26 gallon tank had me hunting for gas pretty regularly on trips -- so there is that benefit ... we don't fill up twice a day when traveling at least. :) :) :)
I am also a little disappointed with the mileage, 2014HD-4x4-6.0, 6speed, 4:10's, getting about 9 1/2 to 10 towing 7500lbs TT.
My 90' Dodge with the 360 throttle body 4 speed carried TC and pulled TT etc. and got 10 mpg consistently. Of course I was only doing 45mph on any hill or mountain :)
Seems like the technology should have improved the mileage just a little in 20+ years.
