I think it will improve. Are you in FL or MA right now? This is a brutally cold winter. My daily driver is using about 20% more fuel than it was in the fall. :(
You may want to experiment with using tow/haul and M5 vs. 6th gear.
I can get 10mpg at 60mpg towing my TT in 5th gear. But I don't, I drive way faster.
Actually, in Louisiana heading for Death Valley and the Sierras for a couple months. So, this mileage is figured with actual gallons and miles on the highways.
But, am having a 'starting problem' too, and it feels like a fuel issue or a spark issue, not the starter itself. Will take it to a dealer pretty quick as it began 'lightly' and is getting worse as we add mileage to the truck ... running at 1450 miles so far, and the mpg has been dropping ever since we left Florida.
So, maybe this is a tech issue and might get another mile or two per gallon - which will make me happier ... And, for those that asked, am a pretty conscientious and conservative driver -- no push the pedal for me -- we cruise between 60-65 mostly when hauling the TC.
