6.0l vortec vs 8.1l with allison gas mileage
I'm considering the purchase of two different trucks. Has anyone had experience with comparing the gas mileage for a a 6.0l vortec vs an 8.1l paired with the allison transmission?? For my purposes...

Is the 2009 with the 6.0 a 1500HD? IIRC the 6.0 was not available in a standard 1500. If it is a 1500HD, that would be a good fit for your trailer. The 1500HD is 8600 GVWR with 8-lug wheels, 6000 lb RGAWR, same specs as a pre-2001 2500. If it is a standard 1500, you'll be no better off than with your current tow vehicle.
