I was in the exact same quandary about 9 months ago and went with the Ram. The main reason was the price I was able to find and the reported mileage I could find from actual users (Ram has cylinder deactivation which gave it about 1-2 mpgs better). People can throw around brand loyalty and useless information about where one might have been built, etc, etc. The bottom line is either one will do the largely the same job.
Drive them both and decide with one you like best. Then get the best price for each one and make a decision. I love my Ram but am not going to tell you it's the only truck out there. All of the big 3 are making REALLY nice trucks these days.
