One thing to consider is the transmission in each truck. The tranny in the Ford is the same one behind the Power Stroke and the RAM tranny is perhaps not the same one behind the cummins.
Last but not least, the Ford is "Made in the USA" and the RAM is "Made in Mexico" .
Good luck... Maybe you need your wife to be the referee. :B
No, the trans is not the same as the Cummins uses and there's no reason to want it to. The 6.4 uses a very reliable unit as well.
Ram trucks are also made at the Warren Truck Assembly in Warren, Michigan, United States.
Besides, as long as a quality truck is made in N. America I don't care.
The OP was asking about a 2500 model and I believe all of these are made in Mexico. I believe this is a detail one should consider when making a truck purchase.
Then you should consider that only a small percentage of a Ford truck comes from the USA. While it may be assembled here (and in other countries) the parts come from all over the globe.
So that's not really something to get hung up on.
Don't tell me but perhaps tell that to these folks.
BTW... Ford trucks are the most American made truck and the full size trucks are only made in the US.

So yes... It does matter! :W
Dude give it a rest. Both trucks are great. Obviously the OP doesn't really care where they're built or he'd by the Ford.
JMO but I'd go with the Ram 2500. 3000+lbs of payload. No need for a 3500 unless you're towing a heavy 5er.
Why????
Perhaps the OP doesn't know where the trucks are built and it's important to them or perhaps it's not... :W
