Dodge could easily solve the torque problem by adding something akin to the etorque system to the 6.4, electric motors are wonderful for providing lots of low end torque and it would also be useful for improving efficiency (what Dodge has done with etorque is kinda amazing in that the efficiency gains are much more than the sum of the parts because they are able to do things like optimize shift points by supplimenting a lugging engine with the electric motor do avoid a downshift)
One of my thoughts just came true....found several patents have been issued for an electric/motorized TC. Traditional hydraulic coupled TC will no longer be necessary. Changing gears will just be to remove the electrical coupling between the tranny and ICE
The ICE is only turned on after this electric motor/TC gets the vehicle up to some predetermined speed. The ICE is also the generator turning the TC while the tranny is in N, or not turning
Embryonic, but going in the right direction until pure EV’s problems are solved. Always say hybrids the only way to go until this energy storage problems are solved
