Yeah, I prefer the OEM filter box for its filtering efficiency and the trick on-demand cold air intake it has as well. As for changing the pipe. The last product I heard of was a "Cool Hose". But It's not made for our generation of truck. For the older trucks, it was only 100 bucks, far more reasonable/cheaper than the roll-your-own plastic intake tube kits I've seen on the market. I'd be interested in what you see on your datalogs.
