6 passenger pickup

Okay Grit, I'll add in...My 250 extended cab has belts/headrests for six passengers. Back seat, good for rifle/shotgun...front seat center, works great for small pup, laying on pillow, due to absolutely no place for legs/feet. The transmission hump is huge, hard to even climb over ( great tranny though). The front passenger seat, best for one legged person, as no room for two feet. Anyway, I love the truck, and the drivers seat is perfect, even on long hauls.

BTW...the center head rests are remove able, which I did right from new.

Let’s get to 3 pages of dissecting how many seats are in a truck with 6 seatbelts!

I have a RAM Megacab in the Laramie trim and it has the center seat. The jump seat is standard on the Laramie and lower trims. In higher trims the bucket seats and center console is standard.

We have 4 small kids and one rides up front in a high back booster seat with a 5 point harness. One thing to watch out for is that this seat position normally doesn't have a headrest to help prevent neck injuries in an accident. This is a concern if the kid's head sticks above the seat. Also there's no airbag for this spot so it's probably not best for big kids.

The setup is pretty comfortable for us. We've done all day stints just fine with it.

Our '06 RAM (1500 Mega Cab) is a 6 seater. Middle front seat is usually taken up by our 11 year old (when we all go). Rear seating area is huge and our teenagers (18 and 16) and little girl (8) have more than enough room to sit and stretch.

Leave one kid home to feed the dogs and cats and gather the eggs , three is plenty !

Our Ram has a 40-20-40 bench and the center position is really only good for the dog when it's too hot/cold for her to be in her kennel, or for a person over a short stretch. There's no shoulder belt so I don't think it's as safe and the console on the floor gets in the way. I suppose you could remove the console on the floor and make it more comfortable, but you'd still lack the shoulder belt.

For real life, I had a 2500 Yukon XL for 10 years, a CC pickup for 3 years, and a full-size van for the last 4.

It can be done, we did it, but I got tired of driving with a body tight to mine.

Back in college, had a professor who road tripped from Mich to DC for a conference in his 4 door F350...there were 6 adults...it worked OK.

Currently have a 4 door F250 and yes, flip up the center console and you can in reasonable comfort carry 6 passengers.
