Sorry, but you still have not explained how my transmission "limits" me from downshifting. Whether yours does or not is irrelevant. I did not say yours could, would, or shouldn't downshift. When I hit the button it downshifts, how is that limited? I imagine people are tired of you avoiding the question and me asking it, so I give up.

If you "manually" select 5th, and 5th gear engages, and then floor it, your truck will downshift, mine will not. You may shift down all the way to 2nd gear. My truck will stay locked in 5th. So I have answered what you have asked 3 times. You asked how it limited downshifting, it does not, thats the whole point.
GM'S "MANUAL CONTROL" DOES NOT PREVENT THE TRANSMISSION FROM SHIFTING DOWN, EVEN IF A GEAR IS "MANUALLY" SELECTED. IT ONLY PREVENTS IT FROM UPSHIFTING.
