- bka0721Explorer IIWhether Lance will produce one? That is to be seen. Me? I certainly won't hold my breath for one. Why would Lance want to begin a precedence? I have been to the factory and it would be difficult to allocate the skilled labor and floor space, as well as supply line to produce one. Yeah, I'll wait to see it.
As I have driven these type of vehicles, many times, they are not in the same world as a properly built Overland Expedition vehicle.
Also, the photo only shows a crudely photoshopped Lance trailer, pasted onto the photo of a Military Heavy Duty truck. Concept vehicle? Sure! Reality, well we will need to wait. IMHO? Simply a car salesman toying with many options to attract buyers to purchase his wares.

I'm amazed Lance can get $60,000 for a truck camper. That's what I paid for a new 32 1/2' motor home.
You really got a cheap motor home didn't you?
Anytime you get a custom product it requires a bump in the normal production line... and a huge increase in labor costs
Ask a builder to change the roof lines on a house in a housing development... see how much that adds to the final price.
The word "custom" often doubles the price.
The appliances in your cheap MH and the ones in the custom TC are the same... and so are the ones in my TC, and the ones in most TT's... they are all made by one or two manufacturers.
If you don't belive me... try building your own fully equiped RV.
Better still, buy all of the individual components and build your own truck... or your own car. BY all means... use 2014 parts from Autozone or Advanved Auto parts.
Cheap or expensive... nothing to brag about. - Mich_FExplorerI'm amazed Lance can get $60,000 for a truck camper. That's what I paid for a new 32 1/2' motor home.

the scary part is I think that some of those folks really think that they need protection from zombies.
bumpy
Also scary that some of these people have butt loads of money to spend on what ever!
Be cool to see pictures of this rig. - BumpyroadExplorer

bumpy - btggraphixExplorerI didn't realize Lance would do a major custom job...good to know. I wouldn't mind having them shorten the cabover section like they did on this rig to get the height lower....
Most people that setup rigs like this aren't doing it for some sort of bugout armegeddon thing....its to go explore remote places in comfort. It doesn't work for everyone, but it is mostly other people and internet "journalism" that tags them as survival vehicles. To me the 40 something foot Prevost parked next to me right now is more a waste of money than a custom Lance on a 6x6. To each their own. - Francesca_KnowlExplorerArmageddon sleds.
$60,000.00 down the tubes when during the Big Bugout they pull up to the first gas station a hundred miles out of town and the Zombies either already got all the gas or ate the power lines that feed the pump.
That's if the road isn't so plugged up with refugees' Subarus that the A.S. can get that far out of town! - jimh406Explorer IIINice!
- PhotomikeExplorer IIII am not sure the truck's payload is enough to carry the camper :B
