The Generac 5500W propane generator I have set up at the house is not particularly quiet , if not down right loud, but for what I want to run when we lose power it was the best bang for the buck. If my neighbors want to complain about how noisy it is they are welcome to come over and discuss it over a cold beer or use the bathroom (since our well pump will still run) in a well lit house.
