We bought a pair of THESE. They work great.
Thanks, guys.
I bought a couple of these.
Second question.
My ground wire is too short.
Is it better to get a longer one or just move the ground wire to another spot so it reaches??
Assuming that you're upgrading from a single battery to the two 6v batteries, it would pay to upgrade your wiring also. Some RV's come with wire that is just at the edge of being able to carry the load and charge current, usually 10 AWG or 8 AWG. If a user then upgrades the batteries, installs an inverter and gets greedy with power, the original wires are woefully inadequate.
Only you know how much power you're going to use at one time but you should size the ground cable to be of the same size as the cables that connect the batteries and the positive cable that supplies current to your 12v system. All of my wiring is 4 AWG except the bank that is two 6v's. That bank has a run of 6' to the distribution center and I used 1/0. The ground to my frame is also 1/0.
