6V Battery Boxes

For 10 years I've been using one like the one on the page that opens in this link. I got mine from a place called Allied Battery, and I think I paid a little more.

But this battery box has been great. It fits securely in the tray intended to hold boxes for group 24 battery boxes. I simply secure the box and its top with a couple of nylon straps. I'm on my second set of T-105's with this box.

Another solution, a toolbox I reclaimed to mount on the tongue:



I painted it black and the inside now looks like this:


I decided, after I mounted the box, to not use it for batteries and installed 2 6V GC2's inside the trailer in a vented box. I did it mainly for weight distribution but ended up with shorter runs to the DC system area, also.

After I finished both of the boxes, Torklift sent me a dual 6v box for evaluation, go figure. I'll probably mount that on the back and use it for gear, now, and possible future expansion later. I wouldn't have dreamed when I started with this 22' TT, I would be looking at possibly having 9 batteries, lol.

Torklift makes some metal battery boxes. Google them.

Bought them online from a boat dealer.

I use the two group 24 boxes I already had. The GC2 fit but are a little taller. They have worked fine for several years.
