had my 7.3 to the dealer for Waste Gate actuator and heater fan stuck on defrost,,, $963.00 later runs like a champ. still cheaper than a new truck payment ok rant over!!

Chipping and Tuning are very different. Installing a canned, one size doesn't fit anything "chip" isn't wise for any vehicle, IMHO.
TUNING, on the other hand can be quite safe with modest performance gains.
Fortunately, the 7.3PSD has been around long enough that we have actual answers about the performance modifications that are good, bad, or indifferent.
BAD = cheap, off-the-shelf 6-position style chip
BAD = any kind of user-adjustable tuner
GOOD = custom-built tuned chips (including 6 position) based on the specs of your powertrain
Keeping in mind that these things are for the ordinary user, not the guy who's building a truck to turn out massive HP, boost, torque, etc.
