Interesting...yes.
Somehow I doubt the story or it's really for something like the Raptor and not applicable to heavy duty towing.
A modest turbo boost could push the engine north of 600hp and boost the low end torque (not that the stock NA numbers are bad). It would also negate high altitude power loss...but this would largely negate the advantages of buying a big diesel:
- If it comes with the same price as the diesel, I don't see many converts.
- If it comes in thousands less than the diesel, you undercut the profitable diesel sales.
Where is the sales advantage in super duty trucks intended for heavy duty towing?
