7 way power cord

My new truck camper must not have come with a power cord from the manufacturer that goes from the truck camper to the 7 way cord on my truck to power the lights. The dealer constructed one on delivery day and had difficulty doing so. It took him about 90 minutes. As a result, I am not completely confident in the integrity of the cord they constructed

I would like to buy one already made with both ends put together, secured, and weather proofed during manufacture. However, I have done many searches on google, etc. and cannot find the right one. I am likely not using the correct keywords. Male on both ends is easy to find but this one is female on one end and male on the other end.

What is this cable called and where can I get one?

Thanks.

These 7-way SPADE cables only have a connector on the end that plugs into the truck connector. The other end is pigtails which connects to your trailer brakes and trailer lights inside a up front electrical junction box. My trailer side connections use the large YELLOW twist on connectors to make the connection...

The only thing you would gain by replacing the long 7-way cable is you can get a new one with the truck side connector molded on but the other end will have to connected much like the way it is now. You can purchase a short version and a long version of this cable from ETRAILER.COM

Maybe your truck camper needs something different than the standard travel trailer setup uses???

Some truck campers need to have an extension setup much like what is shown here. This is mounted inside your truck bed and the other ends routes down and plugs into the standard truck 7-way connector. This allows your Truck Camper 7-way to plugged into the truck more easily done.

    Hope this helps...

  • I think Amazon also has the wiring diagrams or a link also. Adventure RV also has many different combinations and PPL keep up the search you will find something. I made my first round of cords ,new truck already had the plug on the truck and camper was a standard hookup
  • If etrailer.com does not have what you need its probably not availible. Another source would be amazon. I think I made my own. I would like a 7 male that splits into 2 7 female so I can run the camper and a trailer with brakes. I just made my own one of these last week. I would not trust someone else to do it for me. Mine needs to be water tight. Spent enough time with trailer wiring issues in my time.
