Hi Boatycall;
I use Morningstar controllers as well.
Instead of using their remote meters, I use a Raspberry Pi 3 B(RPi) computer.
The RPi collects data from the Morningstar Sunsaver MPPT 15L(MPPT) 24/7/365 at one minute intervals. Morningstar has adapters for this.
The RPi also connects wirelessly to the Mifi and I can duplicate the functions of the remote meter via an internet device; laptop, tablet, etc. The RPi runs a web server and I can examine the collected data and change MPPT settings remotely as well.
The RPi could do unattended changes to the MPPT settings after analyzing the data.
