A BIG thank you

A big thank you to those of you giving advice on AC running situations. We're camping in 90d weather. We were running the AC on low for over 24 hours. Later in the day we were getting very little from the fan. Under most circumstances I would have went crazy looking for a solution. Then I remembered, someone here had said that on the low setting the AC isn't cycling and the fan will freeze up. I turned off the AC, opened the door for ventilation and went to bed. In the morning, I turned the AC on high and guess what? It worked perfectly and is still working. A BIG thank you to those that made our camping trip a lot more comfortable.
  • If your evaporator fins are icing up on low speed and you loose airflow there is a problem with your A/C unit. Most likely the freeze sensor. It's not supposed to do that.
  • At low speed a dirty filter can contribute a lot to the A/C icing up due to low air flow.
  • Next time, turn it to fan only for 15-30 minutes. You'll still get a bit of cooling while it's melting the ice, and can put it back on high cool after.
  • It was nice to see your reply. Thanks for letting us know. We can all learn from your situation and the advice given.
  • Thanks for letting us know that the board has helped.

A good cleaning of the AC (Evaporator and Condenser )might help to keep the problem from happening again.
