I have added 2-stroke oil or ATF to every diesel I have owned. I would not add ATF or 2-stroke to a dpf truck because it will cause regens more often. That being said, I now own a 2011 F250 6.7 Powerstaoke and mix 1 large Diesel Kleen and 1 gallon of 2 stroke oil and add 1qt of the mixture to every tank. The newer fuel systems in the trucks need the lubricating properties to survive.
So, for the record, if you have the newer DPF system I would run Diesel Kleen in the grey bottle. If it is a non-emissions engine, I would run ATF or 2-stroke oil and the Diesel Kleen.
