I was told by adding a diesel additive or ATF to the fuel it would lubricate and maybe prevent fuel pump failure? Any truth to that?
Truck only has 53K miles on it.
Thanks
The problem I have with using ATF as an additive, is ATF is specifically designed to resist high temperatures and burning and is not designed to be combusted. When combusted ATF will leave behind ash, heavy metals, and other deposits. Additives such as Stanadyne and others will provide lubricity without leaving any residue since they are formulated to be combusted and are designed to burn clean as well as increase the lubricity of diesel."
