a diamond for the rough...

All things being equal would a trailer that does not have a diamond plate be a deal breaker form you?. I guess I could install mud flaps on the tow vehicle.Could a trailer without a diamond plate experience enough damage to warrant disconsidering it from purchase? Advise please and thank you
  • Is this to prevent rock damage on forest roads? We tow a lot on rocky roads -- no problems so far -- fiberglass trailer with no diamond plate. But we tow really slowly -- rarely over 10 mph. Too much chance of damage due to potholes and so forth.
  • Many don't, no big issue. Had it on one trailer, didn't do much, not really sure if it was metal or just looked like it.
  • It would depend on what the nosecap is made out of. Fiberglass would be a dealbreaker. TPO is much better
