All things being equal would a trailer that does not have a diamond plate be a deal breaker form you?. I guess I could install mud flaps on the tow vehicle.Could a trailer without a diamond plate experience enough damage to warrant disconsidering it from purchase? Advise please and thank you

No! You can always put a piece of Lexan across the front.

It would depend on what the nosecap is made out of. Fiberglass would be a dealbreaker. TPO is much better

Many don't, no big issue. Had it on one trailer, didn't do much, not really sure if it was metal or just looked like it.

Is this to prevent rock damage on forest roads? We tow a lot on rocky roads -- no problems so far -- fiberglass trailer with no diamond plate. But we tow really slowly -- rarely over 10 mph. Too much chance of damage due to potholes and so forth.
