A/C problems Thermostat ?

I have two problems wit my a/c

2017Hideout 26RLSWE

1. With the thermostat set on auto the a/c will cycle on and off just like it should, but several times it has cycled off and not come back on. It has got pretty warm in the camper and I had to turn the thermostat off and on several tomes to get it to work. works ok on high fan setting.

2. When it is the least bit warm out side the a/c will not cool the camper. I have thermostat set on 68 and outside temp was 85 inside was 80. I know I will not be able to stay in this thing when I get it back to Texas, I am in Iowa now . Any Ideas would be helpful thanks George. I have this posted on a Keystone site also if you happen to be reading post there as well.
  • how old is your trailer? If it isnt cooling properly and/or not enough, I would say the unit is low on refrigerant. Wish you were in Ohio for me to fix it for you. Yes, I am HVAC certified to do refrigeration. I do 410 and 22 all the time, along with 134.
  • AC should always be run on high speed otherwise the indoor coil will freeze up. Run the blower on low speed only when using the furnace.
  • "works ok on high fan setting" it may be to humid to run the ac on low fan setting you will freeze the inside evaporator coil and the freeze sensor will shut off the compressor until it thaws out. usually ok to use the low fan setting at night when its cooler and less humid. always run the fan on high setting when it is not keeping up and start it early before it gets real hot much easier to keep it cool than to get it cool from hot.
