A/C unit upgrades

Parking in the shade (if available) will make the largest difference. Running a fan circulating the air will help as well. Keeping the blinds shut also helps a bunch on single pane windows. RV'S just don't have much insulation.

Our Aircommand 13.5 Non Ducted is also a Non Heat Pump model. It weights 84 pounds and our roof holds it without issue. I would think the condition of your roof matters more than the age. When your up there working on it your adding your weight to the roof structure too so don't think a extra 14-20 pounds will matter much.

13.5 and 15k should both use a standard 14"x14" roof opening.

If you want stay with a 13.5 get a Atwood, it'll out cool any other 13.5 on the market while being much quieter and more electrically efficient.

I have a 15k and it just wasn’t getting the job done. Last summer it would run all day when it was 100 outside and the best I could get was 80 inside. After I watched the following video and sealed leaks between the ducts and the roof, sealed the air separator leaks inside the AC I can now see 74 degrees in 105 degree temps. Plus it cools so much faster than before.

Does it make a noticeable improvement? Our 13,500 is marginal in the summer heat with no shade. I too would upgrade to a 15k if it made enough of a difference.

We went from a 13,500 to a 15,000BTU and it fit the existing bolt holes and opening.

Will the unit bolt up using existing mounting bracket and electrical connection.

If you have a 13,500 you can upgrade to a 15,000.
