That's terrible looking. The truck pulling the fiver looks pretty tore up, but the passenger compartment might have been minimally impacted. Hoping that nobody was seriously hurt.
This is purely a guess, but it looks like the TV/FW might have been following too closely and hit the rear of the truck. But who knows, it might have been a lane change error by one of the other parties or 100 different reasons.
A big rig trucker is being blamed for the accident.
Traffic was slowing down due to a lane restriction (by the way the restriction is poorly marked and completely hidden by a blind curve) when a tractor-trailer slammed into a Jeep Liberty pushing the Liberty off the road. Trucker continued on and slammed into the rear of the camper pushing the the front end of the pickup into the rear of another semi. Mean while the first semi continued on to eventually veer off the road and UP an STEEP embankment hitting the southbound guard rails.
Two people from the pickup and one from the SUV were flown to nearby hospitals, truck drivers unhurt.
No info on how bad the injuries were.
Road was closed over 5 hrs.
No "need" to blame the folks who were driving the pickup, they were victims of being the monkey in the middle of a chain reaction.
I have a friend who drove big rigs in the military and he constantly blames auto drivers for any accident involving a semi.
He talks about how safe the semi drivers are and how reckless the auto drivers are.
I just agree to disagree, as I have seen MANY semi drivers cutting cars off to switch lanes to make the appropriate interchange at the last minute. I have also seen them fail to anticipate slowing traffic and damn near rear end several cars.
Semi drivers are still human and are still prone to the same lapses in attention and judgement as every other driver of every other vehicle. Unfortunately, their lapses can be much more dangerous.

I see both sides of the coin a lot since part of my daily drive IS on that section of highway. Can't tell you how many times I have seen both truckers and other motorists whipping between lanes..
A lot of road rage happens since this road is a heavily used north and south truck route and not to mention camping and commuters..
It is frustrating to get stuck behind folks who for some unknown reason feel that they are empowered to hang in the fast lane driving the same speed as the slow lane severely clogging the roads unnecessarily.
Distracted driving is another issue I have seen over the years making things even worse.. Got a GPS? Well I can't tell you just how annoying BRIGHT they are to the drivers BEHIND the vehicle they are in and even worse when that driver is staying in the fast lane once again clogging the road..
Cell phones and texting, see it daily, even seen some with a laptop or book mounted to the steering wheels???
That lane restriction today has me thinking of changing my route to a slower and more painful route which is full of school zones..
Had a accident happen right behind me today in that same area, heard the tires screech and looked in my mirror and watched a white car sliding off the road after it hit the vehicle behind me..
Not sure what PADOT was thinking when they decided to close the lane in the manor they did but they are really the ones to be blamed for this accident. Bad execution on their part by placing a lane restriction on a 65 MPH road with ZERO visibility of that restriction. They should have closed the road a few tenths of a mile south BEFORE the turn in the road...
They only had two signs about a mile before the closure, now they have added about a dozen new signs (a little too late)..
With towing you might understand that you can't stop on a dime BUT other motorists may not understand this so you really need to drive defensively at all times..
