My new ride has the Vorad radar cruise system that will put on the Jake Brake if you are up too close to someone when you turn the cruise on. It's already warned you that you are too close and 15 liters of Jake will really slow you down.
One problem is when a truck passes you while on cruise and pulls in fairly close...it slows you down to get the proper distance even though the truck is pulling ahead slowly. Figured out that by putting a little pressure on the gas pedal it does not slow me down and when the truck gets far enough ahead (200' on smallest distance) I can let off the gas pedal and it will not slow me down. Not a problem if the vehicle that pulls in is going much faster... pulling away at a fast rate.
It also has the side blind spot detectors although in 100+K miles of MH driving only once when moving over have I heard the rumple strip sound when it was not me on it. Pulled back left before the car could blow it's horn.
Somewhat agree it's dumbing down driving but now you will be able to text and drive a little more safely. :S
