I know we are going to have to get a another Pickup before too long.
Last thing I want is panels dinged easy such as carrying things in the bed.
Lighter weight using aluminum means easier to damage. If the trucks weighed the same the aluminum would still be easier damaged, even if same gauge.
Light weight was to appease EPA and get mileage up.
When I need the truck I'm concerned about it doing the job needed not an extra mile per gallon.
The reasoning at Ford must be Soccer Moms and Suburbanites just use them like cars and lighter weight and that who is buying them.
