I ran into a similar situation, one that I have not solved yet. Too bad your so far away, I'd make you a great deal on an older Carrier 15,000 BTU heat pump(works well). I had planned to move this unit to a Roof vent area in the center of my MH....until I discovered it would not work the way I wanted. My MH has a step up design which would not allow the top unit to lay flat. Dometic makes the smallest foot print unit both inside and out...That's my next move. This will be a third AC for the MH.
