Maybe you're just having bad luck with those computers. I've been using the same bike computer since 2010 and logged hundreds of miles on it. Occasionally I've been caught out in bad weather with it, but it's still going. It just needs a new battery every now and then. Also the OP has already adjusted the tire size in the computer to match his tires.
